On December 15th, 2015, CLT officially launched as a new alternative to the SAT and ACT. From day one, CLT was a seemingly impossible underdog going up against the behemoth billion-dollar testing empires, SAT and ACT. Over the past four years, CLT has proven that vision, passion, and a love for beauty and tradition are ultimately more powerful than money, lobbyists, and state mandates. 

It is no secret that SAT/ACT expand their market share by paying lobbyists to push testing requirements through state legislatures. This is a top-down approach to growth. In contrast, CLT was born out of a grassroots movement that aims to recover an education focused on the true, good, and beautiful; an education that cultivates wonder in students, and puts timeless and meaningful texts in front of them.
